Mickey Mouse beach towel for my Disneyland collection
My first Walt Disneyland experience was in my high school years; I remember how excited I was…I got the chance to take my pictures with all the Disney characters I see. My parents even bought me Disney merchandise as souvenirs. I have a Disney character that I like the most, no other than Mickey Mouse, since then I started collecting Mickey Mouse stuffs like its stuff toys, posters, mugs, shirts and many more. I am already grown up but still my Mickey Mouse collection goes on. In every country that I visit, I always drop by to their gift or souvenir shops to buy a Mickey Mouse merchandise to bring back home with me. When you could only see my room, it is like a museum for Mickey mouse…my mom actually asking me to transfer in and arrange my other Mickey Mouse in the other room because there are already no more space in my room to fit my new collections. Did I mention that I also have a mickey mouse beach towel of course I love Mickey mouse so just what I have said earlier, I have everything about my favorite Disney character. I acknowledge my father who bought my Mickey Mouse beach towel where he bought me not only 1 but 3 different Mickey Mouse character designs beach towels. Instead of using it for taking a bath or for any swimming activities, I just display them. It’s a good thing that in mickey mouse beach towel they thought of producing a beach towels like mine.

Using a Tattoo to Signify Your Inner Strength
We can all look back on a part in our lives where we had to dig deep to pull through, where every day seemed to like struggle and when we think of that time now we are often struck by how resilient we can be when forced into that position.
A tattoo can act as a constant reminder to those trying times and how we found the strength to pull through. Each one most will face troubles throughout our life, it really doesn’t matter what you went through what is important is that you are able to find your way through it and by getting a tattoo that symbolizes this time in your life you can use it as a constant reminder as to just how resilient you are and that if you were able to get past one trying time your life you can do it again. Having a tattoo to remind you of this time may just help to give you the strength and determination you need.
But this tattoo cannot be something that you just pick out of the catalogue it needs to mean something to you and most often it will only hold the meaning for you alone. Take the time you need to decide on a design that means something to you and once you finally do come up with a design your next challenge is to find a tattoo artist that you can connect with, who you willing to tell your story and why you are getting this tattoo and the meaning that it holds for you
Getting your tattoo is a painful experience but while you’re sitting in that chair use the time to think about your goals and what you want to achieve in this new. If you’re life, use the pain to help spur you on and to give you the determination you need to see your goals through to the end.
After you get your tattoo you will need to let it heal and it is not just the tattoo that needs to heal you yourself may also need time to heal, maybe it’s the loss of a loved one or maybe you just need time to grieve, to look back on what you’re going through and realize what you can achieve in the future.
Once your tattoo is fully healed you will be left with a constant reminder of the strength and willpower that you possess, others may not see your inner strength and at times you may not believe it’s really there but this is where your tattoo will play its most important role and that is to remind you of exactly what you are capable of and to never underestimate yourself.
Tattoo Machines and the Pioneering Women Who Got Inked
Whether you’re struggling to summon up the courage to get your first tattoo or you’re already inked and are used to comments or criticism from people that know no better, spare a thought for those pioneering ladies of yore – the heavily tattooed women of the Victorian and Edwardian eras.
Risking ridicule and being cast out from a prim society, many of these women chose to brave the tattoo machine as a way of earning a living in the circus or in a travelling side show.
Whilst some women stated, as we would today, that they were tattooed for their own pleasure, some, in order to titillate their audiences, claimed they had been held captive and forcibly tattooed. One such performer was La Belle Irene, who made her stage debut in London in 1890, and said that she had been tattooed as protection against the ‘savages of Texas’! Whether Irene felt such a step was really necessary whilst visiting the Lone Star State is something we’ll probably never know. Her tale may well have been inspired by one of history’s most famous tattooed women – Nora Hildebrant – who claimed that Chief Sitting Bull himself had captured her and her tattoo artist father Martin, and forced Papa to ink his daughter to the tune of 365 tattoos.
Many women of this period became tattooed as a result of a father and daughter relationship or a husband and wife one. The notorious Betty Broadbent was a 14 year old nanny in Atlantic City who spent her spare time hanging around the boardwalk when she met Jack Redcloud, an artist, and was rapidly transformed into the proud owner of 350 tattoos. She spent the next 40 years traveling the world, became an artist in her own right and ended up being honoured as the first inductee into the Tattoo Hall of Fame.
And to close these tales of truly inspiring women who were most certainly not afraid to stand out in a crowd, at a time when they were supposed to be dainty and demure, comes a tale of starcrossed lovers, tattoos…and facial hair. The aptly named Jean Furella was a genuine bearded lady (many were fakes) who fell madly in love with a John Carson, who in turned loved her back but couldn’t bring himself to kiss her for 15 years due to her unfeminine appearance.
Now, not many people would accuse John of being shallow – Jean’s thick, luxurious beard was indeed a hindrance to true romance…until the intervention of a mutual friend, a sword swallower named Alec Linton (who wouldn’t love to have a sword-swallowing friend?!), who suggested that Jean shave her beard but in order to keep working, replace her crowd-pleasing hairiness with tattoos.
She took Alec’s advice, lost the beard, her and John promptly sealed their love with a kiss and became man and facially hair-free, yet heavily inked, wife.
Maybe these stories have inspired you to get a tattoo or to invest in a new tattoo machine. If so, the web is a goldmine of information, designs and new equipment, so get Googling as you never know what fascinating facts and tempting new studio supplies you might find!
Tattoo Machines and What to Do When You Hate Your Tattoo
It seemed like a good idea at the time, right?! But if that painful couple of hours spent in the company of your friendly, local tattoo artist and his tattoo machine has left you with nothing but regrets, don’t despair because there are options out there.
Whether your ink was the result of a drunken night out, a misguided tribute to a wild holiday or the name of an ex-lover, help is not too far away.
So what are your options? Let’s look at complete removal first:
There are a number of tattoo removal options out there however most of them are inadvisable and can end up making a bad or unwanted tattoo look a lot worse. Most people would strongly advise against Dermabrasion (where the top layer of skin is sanded away) and excision (where the tattoo is literally cut out of the skin – ouch!)
Tattoo removal creams are now widely available however opinion varies wildly on these with some users claiming their tattoo has faded drastically and others seeing no results whatsoever.
Reviews aside, removal cream is the cheapest method of potential removal and could be worth a try if you don’t have the money to spend on the most popular and successful way to say goodbye to your tattoo: laser removal.
Tattoo removal by laser has been around for a while and has enabled a huge amount of people to rid themselves of ink they lived to regret. If you’re desperate to lose a tribute to a band you’ve grown out of, have a tattoo that’s holding you back career-wise or some ink you just plain hate, this can be an option. There are loads of laser removal clinics out there as a quick Google will show you but the downside to laser removal is that, ironically, it will be more expensive and more painful than getting your tattoo ever was.
You will need to make repeated visits, the pain has been described as being akin to having elastic bands snapped repeatedly against your skin, and the whole process is extremely expensive.
So what if you can’t face the thought of more pain, don’t have wads of cash but are still desperate to rid yourself of those Chinese characters that you thought said “Peace and Love” but actually turned out to be “Monkey Hotel”?!
How about a cover-up? A cover-up does exactly what it says on the tin – it’s a new tattoo cleverly designed to cover over your old tattoo. Of course your new design depends, to an extent, on the shape and colours of your original one – you can’t cover a dark blue flower with a yellow sun, for example.
Make sure you pick a skilled artist who has experience with cover-ups (they should have examples displayed on the walls of their studio or in their photo albums) and he or she will be able to suggest and design something to your liking that will do the job effectively. And the cost should not be more, or much more, than getting a regular tattoo.
So, if you hate your tattoo but you’re fine with having one, a cover-up is probably your best, and cheapest, bet but if you need to get rid of that design you wish you’d never had on your wrist, neck or other highly visible body part, then you may have to take the plunge and start looking into laser removal.
